Our first event in the Energising Agriculture in the Global South series featured industry-leading experts Jonathan Lane (The Carbon Trust), Aaron Leopold (EnerGrow), Chianda Njogu (The Rockefeller Foundation) and Wiatta Thomas (AquaFarms Africa) as they addressed the question “Who should be delivering energy access projects and how can they be supported?”

Background:
In September 2021, Smart Power Myanmar launched the publication Energising Agriculture in Myanmar: A Guide to Prioritising Energy Access Investments into Agricultural Value Chains. As some of the most current research to explore synergies between rural electrification and agricultural transformation, this wide-ranging report offers crucial insights for policymakers, financial institutions, private companies and others across the energy and agricultural sectors.

In collaboration with TFE Energy, Smart Power Myanmar offered the opportunity to hear directly from the report’s authors and a selection of hand-picked industry leading experts. Over three one-hour sessions in October, we brought together expert speakers to discuss our findings and to highlight their vision for achieving impact across the Global South.
