Starfield is the planetary exploration of No Man's Sky meets the Dungeon Crawling and Combat of Fallout 4. Just the same as I enjoyed the Wasteland Hobo Simulator that was Fallout 4, this is Fallout 4 again and I'm happy about that. Strictly from a core-gameplay loop point of view, I love this game.

Similar to how the Main Story of Fallout 4 wasn't very good, the main story of Starfield isn't shaping up to be that great, I'm not done with it yet so I can't really comment in detail however SO FAR the characters are doing the heavy lifting with upbeat, positive characters who more resemble Interesting NPCs (3DNPC) for Skyrim than flat Skyrim. These characters tended to rub a lot of people the wrong way, but I found them to be far more detailed than one note Fallout 4 characters and I enjoyed their company when playing (mostly) good character. I imagine that people who wanted to be space pirates would despise the forced interaction with these characters to advance the main plot.

The factions and Worldbuilding (lore) aren't without criticisms, but seem to be far better constructed than anything else Oblivion/Fallout 3 and onward Bethesda has ever made. This game has the Fallout 3/4 problem of everything being dirty but in reverse, most things are too clean. This can be safely ignored.

I can't really comment on the main story at this time, but I love exploring, mining, harvesting, doing mission board quests, crafting, and more. The game is fun for me.

The ESRB has confirmed the game for In-Game purchases at some point in the future, so expect a creation club replacement. The Nexusmods has over 1000 mods, the ones I'm using are below.
