This episode begins with a breakdown of the final offscreen level grinding, the last preparation needed before entering the endgame. With the party fully leveled and equipped, we march into Hargon’s Castle for the ultimate test.

Inside the castle, we:
• Dispel the illusionary walls hiding the true dungeon
• Navigate one of the most dangerous areas in the game
• Take on the castle’s mini-boss encounters, carefully conserving MP
• Face Hargon, the main antagonist of Dragon Quest II
• Survive the surprise summoning of the god Shido in the true final battle

With evil defeated, we backtrack all the way to Ladatorm to receive our rewards and bring the adventure to its proper conclusion before the ending and credits roll.

To close out the series, we provide a modern review of Dragon Quest II, discussing its difficulty, design choices, and lasting impact and legacy within the JRPG genre and the Dragon Quest series as a whole.
