The Farmers Who Give Away Food for Free

MUNCHIES visits Soul Fire Farm, an Afro-Indigenous centered community farm committed to uprooting racism and seeding sovereignty in the food system in upstate NY. The team at Soul Fire Farm is devoted to ending food apartheid, the socioeconomic systems in place that discriminate against predominantly Black and Brown communities and make it difficult to source healthy, whole foods. Using ancestral and indigenous growing techniques, Soul Farm Farm not only grows and distributes fresh food to those who need it for free, they teach the next generation of activist-farmers to create their own sustainable farming communities.
