Tascam model 12 Ipad workaround for aux send and return, explained!

In this video I explain the Tascam Model 12 Aux Send / Return and setup plus Audio loop on the Ipad that allows the ipad to be an instrument output to the tascam model 12 as well as the ipad being a recorder.

Finally figured this one out!!!


MAKE SURE**********
aux 1 is all the way down on track 6, tracks 1&2's faders are all the way down
faders are low on ipad until you are sure there is no feedback loop

Ipad:
using AUM (audio unit mixer) I have a midi sequncer triggering a korg gadget AUv3 plugin to create sound on an audio channel. that output is is going out the usb-c cable into the usb-c input digitally on the tascam model 12.
a second track is made with using track inputs 1&2 to return the sound to the ipad and that either need to go to an used track for the model 12 (track 3 in the video) or just no output at all.
select record for the track input from 1&2 that record both fx (6) and unfx (7/8)

Model 12:
usb-c input / output single cable no adapters c to c.
aux out mono TS cable to chase bliss onward pedal's input
back in from pedal TS into Channel 6
turn up the aux 1 knob on channel 7/8 only and the aux 1 overall knob is up past 50%
turn up the gain on track 6, select instrument and increase fader until level is recordable

*edit: The Tascam Model 12 is known for having some design issues with fx sends & return, insert and audio interface:
tracks 1&2 are inserts only both mono and if used they are only for those two inputs. that eliminates the audio interface portion as 1&2 are also only used for the main sound. when either are used you still loose 2 tracks. if using aux 1 and 2 at the same time you can have a stereo send on all available tracks but again loose 4 of the 10 tracks in the process and loose another 2 for audio interface. also when a stereo pair is used for aux you additionally loose the aux 2 mode of onboard fx.
