A small but brave line of the Eerste Infanterie van Nassau joined the 33rd Wednesday Historical Event on 21 October 2020 to protect the Grande Armée on its retreat from Russia during the dying months of 1812.

In this video you will see footage from the last two stages of that event: Cossack Raids and Crossing the Berezina.

In the first of those two stages our team had to guard the arty train and make sure they safely reached camp for the night. Unfortunately none of our team seemed to have much experience with the defensive side of this 'game mode' and we got comprehensively beaten.

The admin then overcompensated by starting the Russians too late during the next stage, meaning they never reached the river in time to truly hinder our engineers. This time we were the ones to handily beat the opponent.

Still, quite a bit of fun!
