Yiddish Meets Ladino - Sarah Aroeste & Anthony Mordechai Tzvi Russell

Originally commissioned for the The National Yiddish Book Center's annual Yidstock Festival, Yiddish Meets Ladino features vocalist Sarah Aroeste and vocalist Anthony Mordechai Tzvi Russell as they join forces to explore the common themes and approaches of these two historic Jewish languages. Accompanied by pianist/accordionist Dmitri Gaskin (of Tsvey Brider) and guitarist Rob Sanzone, Sarah and Anthony musically reconcile these long-lost cousins of Jewish music in an interactive and genre-bending performance. Recent performances include Carnegie Hall's Migrations Festival and the University of Wisconsin's "Colors of Jewishness" arts and culture series.
