Robotics, the science and technology of designing, building and programming machines that can perform tasks automatically with some level of intelligence is growing at some pace in Uganda. Despite the existence of institutions teaching Robotics in Uganda, feedback from these institutions report mixed results. While they are equipped with the courses, facilities and teachers to teach Robotics, the institutions say that there is still a low level of interest in Robotics from the public, which calls for specific interventions to reverse this trend. STN – Science Television Network’s Martha Namono reports from her tour of Robotic schools in Uganda, that the field is promising, institutions are persevering, but there is a need to actively mobilize the public’s interest in Robotics.
