In which our heroes take a turn off of Va. Hwy 33 to Skidmore Fork Rd. to Dunkle Hollow Rd. ultimately to tackle Flagpole Knob. Word on the street is that Dunkle Hollow Rd. is the "medium" difficulty level trail to the summit of Flagpole.

This route is really just a poorly maintained service road which is just the way we like it! We did not pass a single soul the whole route. We were treated to our very first creek crossing in Luna and by the days end we both had the chance to ford many creeks as drivers. It was an awesome day!
