Welcome to the Early Modern World, a megadocumentary taking you across the world after the Medieval Period, from around 1500 - 1800! We go through the Age of Discovery, how it affected different societies in South and Southeast Asia, Africa, and the Americas. the Wars of Religion, and Age of Absolutism, before we head further East to the Ottomans in the Near East, Safavids in Persia, and Mughals in India. We then continue east to check out the rise of the Qing in China, Japanese unification and the Tokugawa, Joseon Korea and Dai Viet, before heading back West for an epic finale going over the Colonial Wars and American Revolution, and Europe during the 1700s, culminating with the French Revolution and Napoleonic Wars. We go over the major events, as well as daily life and culture, to serve as an 'in-depth' overview of the period.
It is the spiritual sequel to our Medieval World megadocumentary (which covers the Ancient Americas, African Kingdoms, Islamic Golden Age, Southeast Asian kingdoms and Indian Middle Kingdoms, numerous Chinese dynasties, the Mongols, the Byzantine Empire, and the entirely of the European Middle Ages from the fall of Rome until the aftermath of the Hundred Years War). This video was written as a direct continuation, so check that out first if you'd like more background.
