Young Brothers Start Sock Company With A Purpose

** OGTV's first GOOD STORY of the week is about a couple of kid brothers from Florida with a knack for business and a sense of style. Meet the heads of Are You Kidding Socks! **

When 2 young Miami Florida kids with a love for designing funny and colorful socks apply their enthusiasm to a cause, amazing things happen! Brandon and Sebastian Martinez, started their sock company in 2014 to help raise funds and awareness for local and national charities such as Stand Up To Cancer and Autism Speaks. Many of those who met them and heard their story would look at them blankly and say, “are you kidding?”. Instead of being mad, they got energized, worked even harder, and then adopted this slogan as their company name… just because !

Brandon is the Director of Sales and likes designs that are full of vibrant color. His younger brother, Sebastian, is the CEO, and his creativity leans more toward humor. This becomes immediately evident when you get a look at his Steve Harvey inspired hose.

Their Mom, Rachel, has been given the title of President but as you would expect, she wears many hats including Uber driver, financial consultant, and supervisor of meals and wardrobe. She couldn’t be prouder of her boys as they learn, grow, and apply their energy to make the world a better place.

“For us, it’s not just a family business but something I’ve been able to create with my kids,” she explained. “I’ve been able to teach them what business is, while also teaching them the importance of giving back.”

As their business has grown, they have branched out in order to aid more organizations. Their Kids Helping Kids Initiative allows them to support their community by partnering with schools and providing the tools, including socks, for annual fundraisers benefiting various charity partners as well as the school. They have recently launched the first ever kid hosted podcast on iHeartRadio which will directly benefit the Stand Up To Cancer charity. All of their efforts point toward helping achieve a simple goal - every kid deserves to be healthy!
