Cold weather offers the best camping!

During this trip, I pushed my abilities by attempting to sleep in a semi-open shelter amidst sub-zero temperatures of -10 degrees on a heavy windy day. The wind was very very cold. Besides enduring the harsh weather conditions I also cooked up some tasty meals that are quick and easy to prepare.

How did I not freeze?
Surprisingly, this turned out to be one of the coziest camp I have ever experienced. Throughout the night, I didn't feel even a hint of cold. To achieve this, I arranged my tarp to get very protected from wind, combo ground insulated blanked + wool blanket + my thermal clothes were amazingly warm. I'm some kind of minimalist and with years and tests I found sleeping bag too bulky and not very effective. With a sleeping bag, when you sleep on the back you crush it and so you're in very close contact with the ground. On this kind of temperatures, I prefer a blanket and sleeping on the side with very warm clothes.
