Pediatric Malone Procedure

Описание к видео Pediatric Malone Procedure

The Malone procedure, or antegrade continence enema (ACE), is an alternative way to give an enema — a procedure usually given in the rectum. For those dealing with fecal incontinence, this can greatly improve quality of life.

The Malone procedure creates a channel called a Malone that connects through the abdominal to the colon. While both types of enemas are equally effective, a Malone allows someone to give themselves an enema through this channel rather than through the rectum.

In this video, learn more about the process before, during and after the operation and the benefits of a Malone compared to a traditional enema. This procedure allows your child to be more independent while ensuring an easy and effective enema.
