The Metropolitan Museum of Art (The MET), is a must-see in New York City. For nearly 150 years, its iconic Gothic-Revival building, grand steps, and location next to Central Park have made it a city landmark. Inside the bustling Great Hall, visitors can discover 5,000 years of history, highlighting art from Europe, Asia, Africa, and more.

The MET's European Paintings Collection includes over 2,500 artworks from the 13th to early 20th centuries, displayed across various galleries.
It features masterpieces by artists like Jan van Eyck, Caravaggio, and Gustav Klimt, along with one of the world’s finest collections of 17th-century Dutch paintings, including works by Frans Hals, Rembrandt, and Johannes Vermeer. The collection also showcases significant El Greco and Goya pieces outside of Spain and a remarkable array of 19th-century French paintings by artists such as Gustave Courbet, Edgar Degas, Édouard Manet, and Claude Monet.

During my visit, I focused on the newly renovated European galleries, exploring the works in a more intuitive sequence rather than by time period.
I also spent additional time in the Modern Art collection and took a brief look through the European Sculpture and Decorative antique section.

From the Modern art section, I added a bit of Pierre Huyghe's "Untitled (Human Mask)." Please keep in mind that the camera angle is not straight while recording, so the video appears from a different angle.
