Here are two simple yet powerful techniques to help you pinpoint key sections in songs—like turnarounds in a 12-bar blues—so you have more context for licks you discover in recordings. This will help you unlock some mysteries of musical context and enhance your understanding of where a lick belongs within the form of a tune (in this case, a 12-bar blues).
