Omar Farooq Khan, the founder of Khan Nursery, a remote village of Jivanagar Upazila of Chuadanga district, visited the Khilna family home about four years ago and found the first Chinese orange tree. From there, he bought orange saplings from China.
Now he is a successful farmer in China's orange farming on an experimental bigha land next to his own established nursery. Going to her orange garden, she saw a little orange lemon in the tree and was blinded for a while. Eyes wide, filled with orange eyes.
Omar Farooq Khan, son of the deceased Mangal Ali Khan of Nidhundu old Para village, said he was a seasonal vegetable farmer. From 3-5 years ago, many started a nursery on a small unoccupied land with a hobby. The dream is to build a nursery on the sidewalk without any education-assistance from the agriculture department of the government.
In her nursery, she now employs an average of 3-5 workers daily. There are about half a hundred species of fruit and flower plants. Among her cultivars are the apple palm of Kashmir, Malta, dragon, perennial mango, and China orange lemon. Every day in his nursery, eminent farmers from one end of the country to the other side come to pick the plants.
Many peasants came to visit a relative's house in Khulna two and a half years ago. The first year of planting 100 trees of saplings in one bigha land, but little bumper has been produced this year.
He said that farming of orange is more profitable at a lower cost. An average of 5 to 5 kg of oranges have been planted this year. Local market buyers, including Dhaka Koran Bazar, are buying in the garden at a price of Tk. About one thousand oranges of orange lemon are being sold in one tree.
