Garmin MK2i vs Shearwater Teric Dive Watch Overall Comparison

I am going over the main features of the MK2i and the Teric to help you make an informed decision if you are looking to buy one of these AI computers.

Both of these dive computers and transmitters are my own and were not supplied to me from garmin or shearwater. Any opinion or experience was my own and I was not forced to give a false recommendation.

I have made the switch to the MK2i due to its fitness functionality in and out of the water. The garmin Dive app works extremely well and it was a nice surprise when I found out the additional information it tracked during the dive.

In my opinion, the garmin dive app is far more intuitive than shearwater's. I was and still am a big fan of shearwater and the cloud app, but garmin really hit the ball out of the park with their dive log app. The dive data, fitness data, and gps data are all logged for you to see inside of gamin dive. The fitness tracking like heart rate and air consumption were a great addition, but I was really excited to see the gps information in there. Sometimes "secret" dive spots are found and now you have the data to go back there.

Update: At the time of making this video, the swift was not being sold. The AI transmitter has since decreased in price by $50 making the Teric bundle $1450.00. The swift transmitter allows connection to more devices and the cost is $400.00.

In my opinion, paying the $1500.00 will get you the swift which is a more updated transmitter, as opposed to the generic AI transmitter that the other AI shearwater devices came with.
