Formed in 1990 by Rob Barrett, Alex Marquez, and Dennis Munoz. Their 1991 demo got them signed to Steamhammer records. Rob Barrett and Alex Marquez joined Malevolent Creation soon after the recording of the first Solstice album.

Rob Barrett left Solstice in 1993 to join Cannibal Corpse. Solstice has since released two more albums and broken up a number of times. They've most recently reunited in 2014 for tours and festivals and writing new material, having recruited Ryan Taylor on rhythm guitar and lead vocals.
