Reputation, Taylor's 6th Reputation, came out in November of 2017. It was the followup album to 1989, which was a massive success and contained hits like Shake It Off, Bad Blood, and Blank Space. Before Reputation, Taylor's public perception took a nosedive. She had a small feud with her ex, Calvin Harris, as well as a lawsuit against a Denver DJ, which Taylor won. She was criticized for her spot on Time's Person of the Year list as a silence brekaer. Most importantly, her feud with Kanye West resurfaced, and this time, Kim Kardashian got involved. The three had a disagreement over Kanye's song famous, and Kim released a phone conversation between Taylor and Kanye, which ended with Taylor being branded a snake. TaylorSwiftisOverParty started trending as well. Taylor took the snake label and incorporated it into her next era. She also said she was inspired by Gmae of Thrones. The album's first single, Look What You Made Me Do, was full of snake motifs. Reputation had other popular songs like ...Are You Ready For it, Delicate, Don't Blame Me, Endgame, and Getaway Car. Overall, the album seems to be about Taylor finding herself again, and finding love at a time when it seemed like the entire world was against her. It's her way of addressing the narratives about her from her own perspective.
