Because of a drought in NC I had to water my lawn. Apparently the soil was just right for the mother box turtle to lay her eggs. Unfortunately the ground dried out so hard we feared the baby turtles would not be able to dig out. We rescued the turtles and will hand raise until we can release. Also see:
