Oud-Loosdrecht is a village in the province of North Holland, in the Gooi en Vechtstreek region, municipality of Wijdemeren. Until 2001, the province of Utrecht and the municipality of Loosdrecht.

In the 1970s, the former municipality of Loosdrecht apparently did not apply for its own postal code with associated place name for the villages of Oud-Loosdrecht and Nieuw-Loosdrecht, for the purpose of the postal code system that came into effect in 1978, which means that residents of both villages have not only lived in the municipality but for the postal addresses - and for the Municipal Register of Addresses and Buildings ( BAG ) that came into effect in 2009 - also in the 'residence living in Loosdrecht. The cores of Nieuw- and Oud- still have their own blue place name signs (bowl signs), and also still have their own identity, but for the sake of convenience people often also refer to 'Loosdrecht' as a place name (perhaps partly due to the fact that the separate place names for the postal addresses do not exist), by which one, in fact, refers to both villages as duality.
