Описание к видео Driving from Revdanda Fort Beach to Korlai Beach | Alibag Beach Coastline

Revdanda Fort Beach - Korlai Beach is in the coastline of Raigad district. - 00:03

Revdanda Fort is adjoining to the beach giving a natural beauty! This fort is roughly 18 km south to Alibag.

The fort is located at the mouth of the Kundalika River. It is easily accessible by road. The Alibag-Murud road passes through the fort. Earlier the fort was guarded on three sides by creek water. The main entrance is from the southern side.
Revdanda fort was built by Portuguese Capt. Soj, and completed in 1524. It was in the control of the Portuguese till 1806 when it was captured by Marathas. Finally, it was captured by the British in 1818.

Kundalika River - 02:33
The Kundalika is a small river flowing from the hills of Sahyadri to the Arabian Sea. This river originates at a small town called Bhira in the Indian state of Maharashtra, 150 km southeast of Bombay (Mumbai). The important towns located on the banks of Kundalika are Kolad, Korlai, Chaul, Roha and Salav.

River Kundalika is fed by the excess water from Tata Power's Mulshi Dam Project on to a series of hydroelectric projects and dams, including Ravalje followed by Bhira and then Dholvan, where the water is released in the morning typically at 6am. The gush of the water reaches Sutarwadi at 7:30am and water rises at Kolad at 10:00am. Kundalika river is extremely popular for river rafting.

JSW Steel operates the Jetty at Revdanda creek 03:03 in Salav village near Korlai. Located at the mouth of Kundalika River, beside the Revdanda-Murud Bridge, Salav jetty is a captive facility. Operation at Salav was temporarily suspended since August 2015, due to the shutdown of Dolvi plant (because of capacity expansion). JSW Salav resumed its operation in March 2016.

This captive jetty, with its existing length of 235 m, handles 3.0 MT cargo of JSW Pallet
and DRI plant. Barges of 3,000 DWT size handle the cargo at this existing jetty. Iron
Ore Fines, Iron Ore Lumpy & Iron Pallet are majorly handled at the jetty

Korlai Village - 8:35
This is the story of Korlai village, which is situated at the Kundalika River’s confluence in the Raigad district. Surprisingly, the village’s language is a unique blend of Marathi and Portuguese. The Portuguese arrived in this area around four centuries ago for business and quickly established themselves.

Korlai Beach - 12:29
Korlai Beach is about 5 km south to Revdanda Beach. The Kundalika River flyover is a beautiful scene for a stop - view - go kind of. Korlai fort and hill has a small but beautiful beach. The beach comprises whitish black sand and rocky areas. You can see barnacles sprouted on these rocks. These barnacles are very hard and sharp. Do not try walking on them bare feet.

This beach doesn’t have any watersports facility or any food outlets. This gives you a best opportunity to spend a calm evening here while the fort guards your back. While you are there, you can also see the lighthouse in action when it starts its focus.
