RANGELY BASIN FROM THE WESTERN RIM

Описание к видео RANGELY BASIN FROM THE WESTERN RIM

Narriated by a former resident of Rangely Colorado on a recent (June, 2011) visit to his old stomping grounds, we enter the Rangely Weber Sand Unit Oilfield Basin from the west, coming in from Dinosaur, Colorado (last little town on Hwy. 64 and 40 before Utah). Climbing the backside of the rim, we descend into the 10mile-long basin, then drive about halfway east through the oil field. Once home to 500 bobbing oil pumps, the field today is pumped from underground -- electric "submersibles" do the work and only the well-heads and control boxes are visible on the surface. The field has changed a lot since 1966!
