Grow Your Small Business into a Big Business in 2024
My first 'business' started out the back of my car…
I was a mobile PT with few bits of equipment, a ton of enthusiasm, and no idea hoof to run a business.
A little over a decade later, I had done well over $10 million in sales across a few businesses.
How?
By focusing on the following 8 areas:

1. Clear Vision and Mission
As a mobile PT, my vision was small and all about me. Generate enough sessions to scrape by financially. Hardly inspiring to me or anyone else. A more significant business MUST have a bigger vision.
2. Strategic Planning
A small business operates in the short term. I.e., How can I generate some leads this week to sign a new client?
An enormous business prioritizes long-term Planning, and the 3–5-year road map is clear.
3. Effective Leadership
Strong leadership inspires and motivates employees, builds a strong company culture, and guides the business through challenges. I often see this area lacking in business owners looking to leap from small to big business.
4. Customer Focus and Results
When the business is small, you don't invest the same resources into optimizing the experience or results for the client. A big business should consistently upgrade its research level, product, and service and employ a customer-centric approach that builds customer loyalty.
5. Blissful Dissatisfaction
It is important to be joyful and grateful in the present but, at the same time, dissatisfied because you know you have more potential and more to give. This attitude evokes a commitment to continuous improvement that helps the business stay competitive, innovate, and adapt to changing market conditions.
6. Scalable Business Model
A small business is often limited because it is too dependent on the founder. It is not a business, but rather it is self-employment. More significantly, business is built on systems and fantasizing people to deliver those systems.
7. Robust Financial Management
For the first two years of running my business, my financial management included checking my bank account daily. Unsurprisingly, this created significant cash flow, tax planning issues, and poor financial decisions. A bigger business will have great financial systems in place, intelligent advisors, and constant growth opportunities.
8. Irresistible Offer
When I started the business, my irresistible offer was cheaper than everyone else. This is a slippery slope to burnout and failure. More significant gear company identifies their prospect's main problem, crafts an offer, and solves it more efficiently than anyone else.
By focusing on these 8 areas, you can grow a small business into a company.
While it takes time and effort, the rewards of transforming a small business into a big one are significant.
