In August 1990, ITN’s Alastair Burnet interviewed Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, to mark her 90th birthday.

Strolling through the gardens of the Royal Lodge, the Queen Mother reflected on her years there.

She spoke of restoring the gardens with King George VI, growing food during the war, and watching her great-grandchildren, Prince William and Prince Harry, play on the lawns.

Joining the walk was Lord Charteris, former Private Secretary to Queen Elizabeth II and a close friend of the Queen Mother.
