한국에서 가장 인기 있는 팝송 중에 하나인 Top of The World 곡을 연주했습니다^^
Top of The World는 1972년 발표곡으로 1973년 하반기 2주 연속 빌보드 차트 1위를 기록한 노래로
카렌 카펜터 (Karen Carpenter)가 곡을 쓰고, 존 베티스(John Bettis)가 가사를 썼습니다.
처음부터 카펜터스가 부르지는 않았고, 앨범 수록곡으로 생각하던 찰나 린 앤더슨(Lynn Anderson)이
커버하여 싱글곡으로 발매를 했는데, 미국 컨트리 차트 2위에 기록하게 되었고, 카펜터스가 뒤늦게 "우리가 부를 걸" 하면서 후회를 했다고 하는 일화가 있습니다.
카펜터스 버전은 1년 후인 1973년 9월에 발표되었고, 린 앤더슨(Lynn Anderson)을 뛰어넘을 정도로 엄청난 사랑을 받았습니다.
Top of The World는 "세상을 다 가진 듯 한 행복" 이란 뜻으로 운명적인 사랑에 대한 기쁨을 담은 곡입니다.작곡 당시에, 리처드 카펜터스는 그들이 먼 미래 정상급 가수가 되었을 때에 전세 비행기를 타고 하늘에서 아래를 내려다보면 세상을 다 가진 듯한 기분이지 않을까 하는 마음에세 영감을 받았다고 합니다. ^^

곡 속도는 꽤 빠른 편이지만 4비트와 8비트로 구성되어 있어 템포에 비해 비교적 쉽게 연주가 가능합니다.
다만 리듬에서 나오는 킥패턴은 빠른 8비트로 연주하다 보니 순간적으로 더블킥으로 연주를 해주어야 합니다. 하이햇 손 패턴을 원곡보단 좀 더 재밌게 연주했습니다.
워낙 노래 자체가 긍정적인 에너지와 멜로디가 아름다워서 기분 좋게 연주하시기 연주곡입니다^^

Top of the World is a song released in 1972 that topped the Billboard chart for two consecutive weeks in the second half of 1973.
Karen Carpenter wrote the song and John Bettis wrote the lyrics.
It wasn't sung by Carpenters from the beginning, and just when it was thought to be included in the album, Lynn Anderson sang it.

The speed of the song is quite fast, but it is composed of 4 beats and 8 beats, so it is relatively easy to play compared to the tempo.
However, since the kick pattern that comes from the rhythm is played with a fast 8 beat, it must be played with a double kick momentarily. I played the hi-hat hand pattern a bit more fun than the original song.
