Bipolar mania - responding to comments - part 1

Описание к видео Bipolar mania - responding to comments - part 1

My name is Xanthe Wyse.

It's been 4 years since I uploaded my most viewed video, a compilation, showing elevation into mania. I recorded it 7 years ago, when I was off medications and in denial of the bipolar disorder (type 1) diagnosis. Well before I started the channel, Bipolar Courage.

That video has had over 55,000 views. I didn't actually get on film the worst of it but I did write what it was like into my semiautobiographical novel, Pet Purpose: Your Unspoken Voice.

I look a bit different now - older plus put weight back on - some of the sacrifice with the side-effects of meds, to have as much stability as I can.

I read out some of the comments on that video:    • Manic episode on camera. Bipolar diso...

Most of the comments were supportive, commending my courage. There were a few trolling comments though, accusing me of being an actress. Just part of the ignorance and stigma still out there.

It does take courage to be vulnerable. I am an introvert and I was a very shy child. The video was very odd & out of character behaviour for me.

I still have permanent impairment from a mental injury of posttraumatic stress disorder and mood disorder (bipolar disorder), despite treatment. Other diagnoses such as social anxiety and autism spectrum features affect me more mildly.

I was getting ready to go for a walk before my part-time job.

Many people have thanked me for this channel, to help understand themselves and loved ones.

Have uploaded a part 2.

My self-published books give more insight into what bipolar disorder with PTSD is like (from my experiences). It was very challenging to write books, with the impairment I have. I don't actually make a profit from them.
