Kenya is home to some of the most precious gemstones in the world, with Taita Taveta producing over 40 valuable gemstones. In a bid to help the artisanal miners benefit from their hard work, the government through the ministry of mining is now helping to add value to the gems. Edward Chweya visited Taita Taveta county and interacted with the miners, and filed this report for our weekly segment Made in Kenya.
