Could The Pashtuns Decide Pakistan's Future?

Описание к видео Could The Pashtuns Decide Pakistan's Future?

The Taliban regime in Afghanistan has seriously compounded Pakistan's concern over the Durand Line as the border between the two countries. The Taliban has refused to recognize it and gunfire and artillery exchanges are frequent across this disputed frontier. But there is something far more serious for Pakistan. There is the danger of all ethnic Pashtuns, whether in Afghanistan, Pakistan or Iran coming together against the government in Islamabad. The Afghan Taliban, who are largely Pashtuns, have refused to hold back the attacks of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) on military targets in that country. The TTP is a largely Pashtun force that wants Islamic law in Pakistan's tribal areas and is vehemently opposed to Islamabad. There is also the PTM, Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement, a non-violent campaign designed to stop Pakistan's human rights violations and army depredations in the tribal areas. If all come together, it could see the rise of an ethnic Pashtun movement that could well carve out a Pashtunistan uniting all Pashtun areas in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
