COMMENTS: Air Transport 1917 was climbing out of Los Angeles. About 19000 feet the crew called Center Controller.
ATN1917: Los Angeles Center, Air Transport 1917 Heavy.
ATN1917: Los Angeles Center, Air Transport 1917 Heavy.
COMMENTS: Unfortunately, we’re unable to hear controller in the beginning. I tried to explain what was going on. Continue watching.
ATN1917: Yes, sir, at this time we’d like to level-off our climb. We’ve… We’re down to a single power source. At this time we’re gonna need to declare an emergency and we're gonna need to return back to Los Angeles.
COMMENTS: It seems that Controller confirmed the information and instructed the crew to descend to 11000 feet.
ATN1917: That’s affirmative, declaring an emergency at this time, single source electrical power. At this time descending down to 11000, for Air Transport 1917 Heavy.
COMMENTS: It seems that Controller requested the nature of the emergency.
ATN1917: We’re down to a single electrical source. We don’t have an APU and we lost our right generator on our right engine. So we’re down to just a single electrical source at this time.
COMMETNS: Probably the Controller instructed the crew to turn left on heading 250.
ATN1917: Left turn 250, Air Transport 1917 Heavy.
COMMETNS: The controller requested fuel and souls on board.
ATN1917: Alright, fuel we got about 4 hours of fuel on board. We’ve got 3 souls on board this morning.
ATN1917: And can we expect to come back on the 6s, come back to LA or 7s?
COMMENTS: It seems that Controller informed that there was RW 6 in use in LAX.
ATN1917: Yeah, 6 we can take, 6 is fine.
COMMENTS: It seems that the Pilots were asked by Controller if they needed immediate return.
ATN1917: Yeah, we need to land immediately, for Air Transport 1917 Heavy.
COMMETNS: The controller instructed the crew to continue the turn to a heading 130.
ATN1917: Left turn heading 150, Air Transport 1917 Heavy.
ATN1917: Heading 130, Air Transport 1917 Heavy.
CENTER: Air Transport 1917, turn left heading 090.
ATN1917: Left turn 090, Air Transport 1917 Heavy.
CENTER: Air Transport 1917, cleared direct EXERT, direct Los Angeles.
ATN1917: Alright, direct to EXERT, cross, Los Angeles, Air Transport 1917 Heavy.
CENTER: Air Transport 1917 Heavy, descend and maintain 6000, Los Angeles altimeter is 2991.
ATN1917: Down to 6000 now, 2991, Air Transport 1917 Heavy.

THE VALUE OF THIS VIDEO:
THE MAIN VALUE IS EDUCATION. This reconstruction will be useful for actual or future air traffic controllers and pilots, people who plan to connect life with aviation, who like aviation. With help of this video reconstruction you’ll learn how to use radiotelephony rules, Aviation English language and general English language (for people whose native language is not English) in situation in flight, which was shown. THE MAIN REASON I DO THIS IS TO HELP PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND EVERY EMERGENCY SITUATION, EVERY WORD AND EVERY MOVE OF AIRCRAFT.

HOW I DO VIDEOS:
1) I monitor media, airspace, looking for any non-standard, emergency and interesting situation.
2) I find communications of ATC unit for the period of time I need.
3) I take only phrases between air traffic controller and selected flight.
4) I find a flight path of selected aircraft.
5) I make an animation (early couple of videos don’t have animation) of flight path and aircraft, where the aircraft goes on his route.
6) When I edit video I put phrases of communications to specific points in video (in tandem with animation).
7) Together with my comments (voice and text) I edit and make a reconstruction of emergency, non-standard and interesting situation in flight.
