High performance on every terrain
As a perfect companion for all adventures, the Suzuki Vitara will not let you down even in demanding terrain and under adverse conditions. The powerful all-rounder is powered by a high-torque and efficient Boosterjet turbo engine and has the unique ALLGRIP all-wheel drive system from Suzuki. As a typical Suzuki SUV, the Vitara ensures high driving pleasure with maximum traction.

First-class spaciousness in the interior
Those who get into the Vitara discover a beautiful world full of high-quality materials. Every controller, switch and instrument is positioned intuitively here. You will feel so comfortable that you will never want to get out again.

The wide range of new safety assistants make the compact SUV the safest Vitara ever. While driving, the new Vitara uses the new emergency braking system with collision warning and lane change assistant to determine whether there is a risk of a collision. And the Lane Guidance / Lane Keeping Assistant with active steering intervention ensures that you stay in the lane at all times.

With the blind spot warning system you have everything in view: the radar sensors in the rear bumper monitor the traffic behind and next to the vehicle. This allows the driver to be warned when other vehicles are in the blind spot.

At speeds between 65 and 160 km / h, the lane is recognized by a monocular camera. If the system detects that the vehicle is likely to leave the lane, the vehicle automatically supports the driver by getting into the electronic power steering to get back into the lane.

For a better view when reversing, the images taken by the reversing camera can be shown on the display.

Less horsepower, but more torque and lower consumption: Suzuki is launching a new 1.4-liter turbo gasoline engine in the Swift Sport , the SX4 S-Cross and the Vitara . The trio will drive with a new 95 kW (129 hp) unit, which is combined as standard with a 48V mild hybrid system. According to the Japanese, the electrical support optimizes the acceleration behavior, while consumption and CO2 emissions decrease by up to 21 percent (according to NEDC) depending on the model.

In comparison to the previous 1.4-liter turbo, the new engine is nominally weaker: 129 HP instead of the previous 140 HP. However, the maximum torque increases from 220 Nm to 235 Nm. A compression increased to 10.9: 1, the electrically variable intake valve control (VVT) and the cooled exhaust gas recirculation should contribute to economy.

The combination with the 48V-SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) system, which is used for the first time at Suzuki, further reduces fuel consumption. This mild hybrid system includes an integrated starter generator (ISG), a 48-volt lithium-ion battery and a DC / DC converter that converts the higher voltage for the 12 V electrical system.

As a 10 kW electric motor, the ISG supports the petrol engine when starting and accelerating. The “Torque Fill” function provides additional torque at low engine speeds so that the vehicle responds immediately to the accelerator pedal being pressed. The "Torque Boost" function supports until the turbocharger responds at around 2,000 revolutions, thus ensuring more even acceleration.

Let's look at the factory data for consumption. Both the Vitara and the SX4 S-Cross with front-wheel drive are satisfied with an average of 4.6 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers according to the NEDC, which corresponds to CO2 emissions of 104 g / km. The Swift Sport consumes a combined 4.7 liters with CO2 emissions of 106 g / km.

In addition to the new engine, the Suzuki Vitara and the Swift Sport have further upgrades for the new year: While the SUV drives up with redesigned LED headlights, the sporty small car benefits from the so-called "Suzuki Safety Support", which combines various assistance systems. In addition to the dual sensor brake support already included, fatigue detection and the lane departure warning system, as well as the reversing camera, the safety system is being expanded to include a blind spot warning system, traffic sign recognition and a parking assistant, which provides information about approaching vehicles when reset.

The new Vitara has been available in Germany since the end of February, prices start at € 23,650. That is a good 1,200 euros more than before, but the better standard equipment must be taken into account. The SX4 S-Cross is expected to appear in the middle of March 2020 (from € 24,740, around € 1,000 more expensive). The Swift Sport is expected to be available from mid-April (from 23,800 euros, previously 21,400 euros).
