The Irish Critical Care-Clinical Trials Network (ICC-CTN) was established in 2015 under the leadership of Prof Alistair Nichol through receipt of an award from the Health Research Board, Ireland. The ICC-CTN was initially established to support
The Irish Critical Care-Clinical Trials Group (ICC-CTG); a group of clinicians, nurses and researchers conducting critical care clinical trials and research throughout Ireland and beyond. The overall aim of the ICC-CTN was to improve outcomes of our critically ill patients, by providing critical care research infrastructure in Ireland, to conduct three phase II and III clinical trials (TRANSFUSE, PHARLAP, REST) and one pilot study (PEPTIC) and to enhance the training of future clinical trialists.
