The Supreme Court today observed that delays in granting assent to Bills cannot be a reason to impose fixed timelines on Governors and the President. The Centre told the Delhi High Court that it will soon constitute an authority and frame rules under the new Online Gaming Act. Meanwhile, an insurer has moved the Supreme Court against the order to pay Rajasthan Royals ₹82 lakhs over Sreesanth’s 2012 IPL injury. The Delhi High Court denied bail to Umar Khalid, Sharjeel Imam, and 7 others in the UAPA Delhi Riots case.
