Getting back to work on the archtop build. Working from Robert Benedetto's book, Building an Archtop Guitar. Binding Chapter 11.

I used the Stewmac Binding Router Guide that fits on a Dremel motor.
Good idea to practice on scrap. It's a little tricky to set up for the thickness you want. Here's the link. No affiliates yet. Hope you find it useful.

The book called for 2 channels. One small and thin and a wider channel on the outside. I used strips of walnut and cedar laminate veneer for the inside and black plastic binding for the outside edge.

Superglue for the thin wood strips and Duco cement for the plastic strips.
Packing tape to hold it down tight and let dry overnight. Used scrapers to level and clean up the glue.

Scraping the re-curve on the to and back from chapter 12 coming up next time.

This is a short edit of clips from adding the binding from Chapter 11. The iPhone has an automated editor that added the music track. I like how it came out. It's short but shows all the steps I worked on to get the binding installed. Plus it was fast. I did not spend hours editing.
