Acer Aspire VX 15 Review - $800 Gaming Laptop

The budget gaming laptop segment is getting interesting, and Acer’s latest generation Aspire VX 15 offers Intel quad core 7th generation Kaby Lake CPUs, SSDs and NVIDIA Pascal GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 Ti graphics at nice prices. We look at the $799 model with a 45 watt quad core i5-7300HQ CPU, 8 GB DDR4 RAM, a 256 gig SSD and a matte IPS full HD 1920 x 1080 IPS display. It’s also available with a Core i7, 16 GB RAM and there are HDD options too. Want a GTX 1050 Ti? That’s $899.

The Acer Aspire 15 VX competes with the Dell Inspiron 15 7567 Gaming Edition and the Lenovo Legion Y520. It has a 15.6” display and is fairly portable at 5.5 lbs. /2.5 kg. It has a backlit keyboard, strong stereo speakers and a durable chassis with upgradable internals. Battery life is better than average.
