In a stark update ahead of Rosh Hashanah, IDF Spokesperson Brigadier-General Effie Defrin describes how Hamas opened fire on a UN team, stole UNICEF trucks of baby formula, and blocked civilians from fleeing combat zones - actions that  expose a deliberate strategy of sacrificing Gazans to prolong the war. Meanwhile, even as IDF operations intensify, Israel continues to keep humanitarian corridors open for civilians.

Defrin stresses that Israel’s mission remains twofold: to dismantle Hamas’s terror networks and to secure the release of the 48 hostages still imprisoned in Gaza.
