The Lindsay Butler name is legendary in Australian Country Music as both the greatest guitar player of his generation, renowned as “The Master of Country Guitar” and one of the most highly respected record producers in the nation.

2023 marks his 50th Anniversary as a professional recording artist, first recording on Opal Records back in 1973 when enlisted as Slim Dusty’s guitarist. He became the first country guitar player in Australia to record a solo instrumental album and also won his first Golden Guitar for “Instrumental of the Year” back then.

After releasing several successful albums on Opal, Lindsay was employed as House Producer for Hadley Records developing their roster of talent and recording several more successful instrumental albums for Hadley during that period.

He then opened his own recording studio, Lindsay Butler Studios, in 1989 where he continued to produce albums for his own career and many other country recording stars and labels.

Lindsay and business partner/wife, Shaza Leigh, branded LBS Music in 1994 and the LBS Music label has launched and promoted some of the finest Australian Country talent ever since.

Lindsay has now personally recorded 35 solo instrumental albums and he has assembled his favourite 25 tracks from his 50 year career and released them as “The Ultimate Collection”. And what a collection it is!!
