London's Leicester Square played host to the star studded World Premiere of Universal Pictures' Les Misérables directed by Tom Hooper.

Les Misérables follows Prisoner 24601, Jean Valjean, after he is released from prison and breaks parole to create a new life for himself while evading the grip of the persistent Inspector Javert. Set in early 19th-century France, the story reaches resolution against the background of the July Revolution of 1832.

Featuring the stellar cast of Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Isabelle Allen, Sacha Baron Cohen, Eddie Redmayne and Samantha Barks, Les Misérables opens in UK cinemas on January 11.
