The August New Moon In Leo arrives on August 4, 2024. This particular New Moon falls during the period of the Lions Gate Portal (next weeks new meditation!) just four days from its pinnacle. It's an ideal time to dream BIGGER through manifestation because this will be a particularly powerful time for Moon Rituals.

New Moons are the point in a moon cycle where one season comes to a close and a new one begins. This makes it a great time to find true honesty within when communicating our hearts desires and the things we're craving most out of life, but are too afraid to admit out loud or even to ourselves.

Leo is bold sign. It is confident, charming and knows how to command a room. This high-energy Fire sign has a way of breathing life and fearlessness into our lives. Leo is one that is notoriously loved or detested. It has a way of turn of bringing out either our best of the worst. With our inner most selves (ruled by the Moon) and our outer selves (ruled by the Sun) both impact by the influence of Leo, you may find this energy all encompassing,

The New Moon is the moment that will set your energies and themes for the rest of the Moon Cycle ahead. As discussed, this Moon falls within the opening of the Lions Gate Portal and just four days from the peak on 8 August. With the Mercury Retrograde commencing just the day after this Moon, and the Lions Gate peak in sight, it will be very important for you to set yourself up for success.

This could be a truly transformative moment. Saturn, Pluto and Neptune will all still be in retrograde. These are regarded as nurturing retrogrades, ones that dare us to ask big questions and not comply with the status quo simply because that's how it's always been done. This, coupled with the potent potential for manifestation means that this New Moon could be used to call life defining change into your life. This is the exact point where you could truly make your dreams a reality so long as you're willing to admit what it is you want, and start making steps toward bringing it to life!

Ruled by the Sun, Leo does not want you to play small. It wants you to take up space and light up the room with your life force. To radiate in this manner, you must be in touch with yourself. You must know what makes you smile and what aligns you with your truth.

This new Moon also uncovers layers that teach you about who you are and how you want to show up in the world. Again, be honest with yourself. What do you really want out of life? What brings you the most joy and reminds you why you love to be alive? The Universe cannot give us what we cannot admit to ourselves.

On this day, be clear about your deepest desires. Unlimit yourself and your potential. Even if it seems far-fetched or impossible, state it if it’s what you want. Even if you feel like it’s a crazy idea or people will think you’re crazy, state it. Even if it feels too big for you, state it. This is not a time to shrink your intentions. It’s one to make them bigger and more aligned with your desires than ever before!

While the energy of a new moon lasts for about three days before and after the lunation, the moon is technically only new for a moment—when the sun and the moon are directly aligned in the sky (and on the zodiac wheel!).

Since new moons happen once a month and signify the beginning of a cycle, you can think of them as a cosmic reset. The new moon is an ideal time to set intentions and goals that you'll develop as the moon waxes toward fullness.
