BTR#53 Vintage 1950-1954 Fender Telecaster “Blackguards”: a legend explained

A special double-length episode to celebrate 70 years of my vintage 1953 Fender Telecaster that I nicknamed “The Witness”. It’s finally time for a comprehensive video on the original vintage Fender Esquires, Broadcasters, Nocasters and Telecasters made between 1950 and 1954, the so-called “Blackguards”. We are about to retrace their origin, to investigate their secrets, we are going to debunk some false myths and to explore with open mind their tone and technical features. Finally, we will get to the role of Blackguards in guitar culture and rock history unveiling some new testimonials. After more than 70 years, the Blackguards are still living instruments. They still need to sing their fascinating stories with their unique voice.
