"Houston, We Have a Contender" - Kay Adams Reacts to Everyone, Even JJ Watt, Wanting to Be a Texan

But I want to start the show by talking about what’s going on in Houston. It seem like everyone wants to be a Houston Texan lately…and apparently that includes JJ Watt. Take a listen to what he had to say at his charity event this weekend and the response from Texans head coach Demeco Ryans this week…

Now…when I first heard JJ say this, I didn’t think there was much to it…but hearing DeMeco makes me think there might actually be a chance here.

Whether it happens or not though, the fact that it’s even a THOUGHT in JJ’s mind – the fact that we’re seeing Houston as a destination people want to go to – got me thinking about how far Houston has come under Nick Caserio. I mean…Caserio inherited a HOPELESS situation in 2021. The roster was decimated…the Deshaun allegations began just 2 months after he took the job…and he didn’t even have a 1st or 2nd round pick in his first draft. Brutal.

We know the Demeco hire and Stroud pick were the biggest part of this turnaround, but I want to dig into the Watson trade here too…because out of this draft, we finally have a full picture of the absolute heist Caserio pulled on the Cleveland Browns. He ditched Watson for what has turned into a 12 player haul – including Defensive Rookie of the Year Will Anderson, budding star WR Tank Dell, and capped it all off by parlaying some of those picks from Cleveland into the package that landed STEFON DIGGS.

The Texans have had some success before…but I think this is the first time in franchise history that they’ve been the “FUN TEAM” to root for – and more importantly – the first time they have legitimate expectations to contend in the AFC. Legit bonkers to say that after where things stood 3 years ago.
