This video shows the advanced bossa nova phrase 0000. This is the simplest of all single beat bossa nova phrases. Bass and chord notes are played simultaneously on all main beats (quarter notes) in both measures. This phrase is mainly used in transitions (bridges) or song openings and closings.

This is an important song as it is considered the first samba canção song ever recorded (in 1929). This lesson is based on the version played João Gilberto on various studio and live recordings with Maria Bethânia and Bebel Gilberto from 1990s.

The last chord is played as a fast arpeggio. The last (highest) note of the chord is played on the beat (1st beat of the 1st measure), the same way arpeggio chords are played in Triste and O Amor Em Paz lessons.
