Those who opt for bariatric surgery will recommend to others and those participants in my Masters Thesis considered it 'the best thing' they had implemented to lose weight. Rapid weight loss occurs in the 12 months post surgery but research indicates that 50% of the lost weight can be regained withing 3-5 years.
