Nayyra Noor didn't sing much because she is very choosy and careful about her work. She started her carrier with PTV in 70s astonishing people with her unique style. In showbiz glamorous world she appeared on TV in exceptionally simple dressing having no makeup, no jewelry, presenting the song without any movements. I watched her first time singing "her chand sahara hay teray payar ka dil ko" I couldn't resist recording it. I do have that audio recording in my small music collection. I was mesmerized by the voice quality that she had and still she is the best voice for me in the music industry. Iqbal Bano and Farida Khanum were ruling the ghazal singing world that time but soon people started placing her another singer with her own style and class. She did sing for few movies also but not liking the environment she soon left the films. I think her best work is on TV and as she said in an interview it is with Arshad Mehmood (a composer of his own class) she has almost left singing I wish she had worked more giving some more musical gems to her fans.
