Fashion &... Versailles

This week, we’re turning our attention to France and in particular, a small town on the outskirts of Paris with a grand palace whose name is synonymous with fashion, luxury and extravagance.

This week’s episode, Fashion &… Versailles, looks at how no other place in history has had such a profound effect on Fashion as the Palace of Versailles.

Fashion has played an important role in the French historical narrative for over 350 years and the splendour of the court of Versailles undoubtedly contributed to the establishment of France as the leading force in Fashion.

Since Louis 14th transformed Versailles from a humble chateau into a sumptuously extravagant palace, Fashion and Versailles have shared a history that is not mutually exclusive.

If fashion history has taught us anything, it’s that styles may come and go, but Versailles and its influence has endured the test of time.

Just make sure you don’t lose your head!
