Frankel and his final season: Newmarket racecourse gallop

Описание к видео Frankel and his final season: Newmarket racecourse gallop

Nine from nine in a remarkable racing career as a juvenile and a Classic-winning three-year-old, Frankel returns with a racecourse gallop on the Rowley Mile at Newmarket ahead of his final and highly-anticipated four-year-old season. He should be even better as a four-year-old, says trainer Sir Henry Cecil.

With the Group One Lockinge Stakes at Newmarket the first target of the season for Frankel - and having suffered an injury scare weeks previously with an overreach, his back leg cannoning into his front thanks to his impressively long stride - this racecourse gallop, a very public one, had symbolic worth as well as a practical one in simply preparing a racehorse for a seasonal debut one.

Frankel gallops on the Rowley Mile unde regular racecourse rider Tom Queally, with regular work companion Bullet Train and Jet Away, smart horses who are well capable of running to a level of 100+. Unsurprisingly, Frannkel just breezes past them.

Enjoy a true superstar, indisputably one of the finest in turf history, enjoy this racecourse workout with extended thoughts and commentary from Nick Luck and Graham Cunningham.
