This man let his nails grow for 66 years, and this has caused him to lose his hearing.

When Shridhar Chillal was a schoolboy, his teacher severely beat him and his friends after one of them broke the teacher's very long nail. When asked why he was so furious, the teacher said they would never understand, as they had never experienced growing such long nails themselves.

Chillal took it as a challenge, and since 1952, he stopped cutting his nails. As they grew, problems increased significantly. It became difficult for him to sleep and perform everyday tasks, and nearly impossible to find a job or a girlfriend. As he aged, he faced new challenges due to the immense weight of his nails. His left hand suffered disfigurement, losing function. Nerve damage from the weight even led to deafness in his left ear.

But in 2018, Chillal made a decision to change his life. At 82 years old, he decided to cut them off during a "nail clipping ceremony.

The nails were so thick and dense that a power saw was needed to perform the procedure.

His 358 inches long nails are now displayed at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museum in New York City.
