During the shooting of Poetic Justice, the urban drama starring Janet Jackson, background extras made co-star Tupac, a little nervous prior to shooting a scene.

Director John Singleton had just released the background actors initially hired for the scene because he didn't feel they looked authentic enough to be from that neighborhood.

After pulling non actors from the throngs of onlookers, most of whom were actually from the West Oakland neighborhood, Tupac felt the pressure to deliver a performance that was honest to the local experience.

30 years later looking at the ongoing affection for 'Poetic Justice', released in July of 1993, I think it's safe to say...Tupac had nothing to fear!
