The #ChapekarBrothers forced the British to adopt a humane approach to treating plague patients, during an outbreak in the 1890s. Unfortunately, the brothers paid for it with their lives.​ As a nation, we must not forget the sacrifices of past generations. -Sg

Haipou Jadonang​ - a popular Naga freedom fighter who brought the Naga people together and inspired many Indians to take up the freedom struggle. Though brief, his life is an outstanding example of the power of relentless commitment. -Sg

Jathindranath Das -
Revolutionary freedom fighter Jatindra Nath Das made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom of million of Indians by going on a 63-day long hunger strike in 1929.

Mahaveeran Alagamuthu -
Maveeran Alagumuthu Kone from Kattalankulam in Thoothukudi was the first freedom fighter against the British presence. In Tamil Nadu he waged a war against British colonial army from 1750 - 1759. Alagamuthu was defeated in battle against the British forces and was executed.
