RAF Wattisham. F-4J & FGR.2 Phantoms from 54(F) & 74(F) Squadron take off and get into a diamond formation of 16 with 4 spare. They then flew the formation over Buckingham Palace to celebrate the Queen's birthday.

The video shows the spare 4 having some fun and then the return of the formation.

The Phantoms were to be taken out of service later that year and RAF Wattisham was handed over to the Army to become Wattisham airfield in 1993.

Apologies for the camera shake, the camcorder did not have image stabilisation. There is some interference from the near by radar.
